The Adam Soos - Zak on Albertan Identity

Does Alberta have an identity? Many out east don’t seem to think so, heck some in Alberta (probably Edmonton) have been echoing the same sentiment.

Quebec has a distinct language, and poutine, so it is plain to see that they are in some ways distinct compared to the rest of Canada. What definable or distinct characteristics make Alberta unique? Is Alberta a nation within a nation already?

Today’s guest is an individual who tells Alberta’s story and shares its history on social media in a compelling way and has accrued a large following in the process. He goes by Zak, or YYCZAK on Instagram, and he has a distinct passion for this province, so Adam figured he’d be as good a person as any to discuss the question of Alberta’s identity. Zak is also a men’s mental health advocate and the host of the Canadian Podcast.
