Pastor Derek Reimer, a street preacher in Calgary, Alberta who spends a great deal of his time sharing the gospel and feeding the cities’ homeless, has been no stranger to news headlines over the last few years.
He first drew the ire of authorities as a pastor for failing to cease feeding the homeless during Covid-19. He then faced numerous arrests for protesting “Reading with Royalty” events in which children were being exposed to drag queens at taxpayer funded city libraries, and then again most recently for failing to apologize to an individual at one of those libraries per a court order.
His legal troubles have been so multi-faceted and seemingly endless that even keeping track of every charge he has faced can be a challenge, so to provide us with a legal synopsis of what Pastor Reimer has been through and what lies ahead for him, and to discuss whether this is a witch hunt or a just application of the law, Adam was joined by Lawyer Andrew MacKenzie, who has served as Pastor Reimer’s legal counsel over the last few years.
