The Adam Soos Show: Pastor Tim Stephens on National Values, Alberta Independence and Christ as the Cornerstone

What is a Canadian value? What is an Albertan value? What is a value period?

When the topic of Alberta independence comes up, people without fail mention that Ottawa’s values are no longer our own. I tend to agree, but when it comes to quantifying those values, beyond adjectives like grit, determination, freedom, it can be a bit nebulous.

How do we define what is good?

Canada clearly no longer has an agreed upon definition, so much so that many Canadians are proud defenders of the nation’s moral ambiguity, if not altogether its outright depravity.… they have abandoned God, and religion and community, the bedrocks of our society, and filled the void with climate alarmism, woke activism, euthanasia, drag shows for children, abortion… well you name it. How did that happen… and so quickly?

How do we ensure that if Alberta separates, the same thing doesn’t happen here too?

You see it time and time again, a place has a more equitable society, a better quality of life, stronger values, and people want those good things, eventually so many people have come seeking these comforts that no one can recall what values made life better there in the first place. People flee from California for Texas, then they continue to vote Democrat…

If Alberta separates, what anchor must she set in the sand to ensure she doesn’t stray too far from her core values and become well… just another Canada.

Is there any hope for Canada to get back on track, to reclaim some of those values?

To offer his thoughts on which central tenet Canada, Alberta, or frankly any other nation must prioritize if they hope work towards goodness and upholding human dignity to the highest standards possible, Adam was joined by Pastor Tim Stephens.
