A common strategy of progressive politics is to eke out acceptance on previously taboo social issues and then immediately declare that any debate on said matters is unacceptable, and then to assert that the debate is settled.
Issues like gay marriage, gender ideology, and abortion are perhaps the most common examples of issues that many insist and believe aren’t open for discussion, but none of these matters are anything close to settled when you look at global public opinions on them.
