The Adam Soos Show: Shane Wenzel on Radical LGBTetc Activism

Echo-chambers are dangerous places. They breed radicalism. This is true regardless of your political stripe, worldview or religion. If you limit who you are willing to engage with to people who agree with and affirm everything you believe in, you put yourself at serious risk of becoming radicalized, if not at the very least staggeringly narrowminded.

Society was better off when discourse and respectful public disagreement where the norms, now sadly instead we have cancel culture.

Thankfully I think most people do not operate in their day to day lives looking for a fight, and in most cases even if someone has a different religion, sexuality or if they prefer Pepsi whereas you are a Coke drinker, we are able to live together in relative harmony and leave others alone. For one group, however, this simply won’t suffice… activists.

To be clear activism isn’t inherently a bad thing, peacefully and lovingly trying to convince someone, or a group of people, that there is a better option for them is the compassionate thing to do, but many modern activists, particularly progressive ones, aren’t peaceful or loving. Many of these activists are totalitarian and they demand blind obedience from their adherence.

Unfortunately for these activists, not everyone is willing to quietly submit to their LGBTetc mandates, some gay people like to think for themselves, some gay people even consider themselves conservative.

To discuss the hijacking of the gay rights movement by activists more concerned with establishing totalitarian control than with the freedoms of gay people, Adam was joined by Shane Wenzel.
