Just about a year ago Adam was joined on this show by impassioned Western separatist Tariq Elnaga. After being born in Dubai and travelling the world extensively, it was a trip to Calgary’s world-famous Stampede over a decade ago that brought Tariq to Alberta, and on that trip, he unexpectedly fell in love with the province. He went home, packed up, moved here and became a cowboy. No kidding, a full-on rodeo cowboy.

Pretty quickly he noticed that Alberta, the province he had come to love, was getting a raw deal from Ottawa, so he became involved in politics and began calling for Albertan independence.

Tariq, like many others in the province, has had enough… he counts himself among those who don’t see the changes they feel Alberta needs to succeed anywhere on the horizon. The election of Mark Carney proved that the East has too political influence and that Ontario’s interests do not align with ours, so he is heading South of the border in search of greener pastures… and he is not the only one.

To discuss whether Albertans should be fighting for their province, or making alternative arrangements abroad, given the reality that things will likely be getting worse before they get better, and to analyze the significant brain drain Canada is experiencing, Adam was joined by Tariq Elnaga.
